Two people were injured in a 10-car chain-reaction crash that snarled traffic on the Major Deegan Expressway Thursday morning, authorities said. The accident left a jagged procession of bumper-to-bumper cars blocking the highway's southbound lane near Mosholu Parkway about 6:20 a.m., Fire Department sources said. Two crash victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, one with minor injuries and the other with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

A small plane landed on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx Saturday afternoon, according to the city's Office of Emergency Management. The plane, which took off in Danbury, Conn., landed near East 233rd Street. Three injuries were reported in connection with the landing, officials said, but none of them were serious. Previous reports said four people were injured.
