Woman Seriously Injured In Belmont CraginCrash

A 21-year-old woman was seriously injured after a vehicle struck her parked car Wednesday night in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side. The woman was sitting in a parked Mazda Protege when a speeding Honda Acccord heading west swerved into oncoming traffic and struck the Mazda, police said. The woman and the driver of the Honda, a 23-year-old man, were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. The woman was in serious condition, and the man'€™s condition was stabilized, police said. The crash happened at 9:40 p.m. in the 6000 block of West Fullerton Avenue, police said.

Motorist Charged With Killing Unborn Child In Northwest SideCrash

A man was charged with reckless homicide after a Northwest Side crash on Wednesday seriously injured a pregnant woman and killed her unborn child, Chicago Police announced Friday night. The unborn child was pronounced dead at 12:10 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner'€™s office. Ramon Marin, of the 3000 block of North Natoma, faces one count each of reckless homicide of an unborn child and aggravated reckless driving, police said in a statement. Wednesday between the vehicle Marin was driving and the 21-year-old woman'€™s parked car in the 6000 block of West Fullerton, police said. The woman and Marin, 23, were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
