Driver in fatal Bethel crash faces drug charges

BETHEL, Maine — A driver involved in a head-on crash that killed a woman Friday was held without bail Saturday on charges not related to the crash. Heath’s vehicle and another vehicle, driven by Susan Isham, 47, collided head-on on Intervale Road around 3 p.m. According to the Oxford County Jail, Jason Heath, 29, was being held without bail on heroin-related charges, as well as violating conditions of release. Police worked to clear the scene of the crash until around 10 p.m., according to dispatchers. He has not been charged in connection with the crash.

He pleaded not guilty to two charges not directly related to the crash. Gallant said the cause of the crash in under investigation, and no charges have been filed. Oxford County Sheriff Wayne Gallant said Heath was the driver of a vehicle in a head-on collision near Intervale and East Bethel roads that claimed the life of 47-year-old Susan Isham of Bethel.
