State police said the woman driving in the wrong direction died at the scene, and an infant in her car was flown to a hospital.
The vehicle that was struck by the wrong-way driver ended up in a wooded area off the highway. SkyTeam 11 reported at 3:17 p.m. that a tow truck was able to get the vehicle upright and crews were able to rescue a person inside who was struck from the waist down and was conscious and alert.
