Scott Agner, who worked at WTVA in the late 2000's, and his wife were involved in a single car accident around 11:30 p.m. Friday night at Star Landing Road and Interstate 55 in DeSoto County.

The victim’s wife, Haley Agner, remained in critical condition Saturday night at the The Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokesman confirmed.

Scott was a Corporate Buyer for Power and Telephone Supply and former Meteorologist for WMC and WTVA. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Scott Agner and his wife were driving near the intersection of I-55 and Star Landing Road when for unknown reasons the car crashed and rolled. Agner did not survive the crash, and his wife was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. Scott Agner worked as a meteorologist at WMC Action News 5 between 2010 and 2012, mostly in the mornings and on a fill-in basis. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
