John E. Ayers turned out of parking lot of a restaurant on Maple Avenue, rode north for a few blocks and then turned around, Fair Lawn police said. He accelerated too quickly, though, lost control of the bike and struck an SUV after crossing the center line at about 8:50 p.m.
