1 killed, 2 injured in Guilford County crash; man charged with DWI

A man faces a DWI charge in connection with a single-vehicle crash that killed one of his passengers early Tuesday morning. The driver, Derrick Herbin, 35, of Burlington, was seriously injured and taken to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment. Another passenger also was taken to Cone for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. The road was closed for about two hours as a result of the crash. A 22-year-old woman, whose name hasn't been released, died at the scene of the crash just after 2 a.m. on Highway 70 just west of Knox Road near McLeansville.
