National Guard soldier dies in crash with NC deputies

Authorities say one National Guard soldier was killed and another injured after the men were involved in a crash with two deputies from the Scotland County Sheriff's Office. The driver, 24-year-old Rasheed McLain of Fayetteville, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities say they don't think he was wearing a seatbelt. The two sheriff's deputies were treated and released from a hospital. The soldier sitting in the passenger seat, 22-year-old Andre Nelson of Lumberton, was killed.
