Authorities with the Oklahoma Highway patrol confirm with NBC 5 that one person on board the plane was killed. A single-engine plane traveling to Fort Worth Spinks Airport from Springfield, Missouri crashed in Oklahoma Sunday afternoon, killing one person, a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman said. The Beechcraft Bonanza was carrying two people on board when it went down five miles southeast of Colbert, Oklahoma around 3 p.m. The FAA will release the tail number after investigators are able to verify the plane's identity at the scene. FAA investigators were called to the crash site, and the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified and will take the lead in the investigation, Lunsford said.

Charles Fehr was piloting the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza when he reported losing engine power.
