Two killed in Utah County crash

Witnesses tell the Utah Highway Patrol that their vehicle was speeding and weaving through traffic as it drove north on Interstate 15, said UHP Sgt. Mary Kaye Lucas. About 3:10 p.m., the driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled near mile marker 224, which is one of the Santaquin exits.

The Utah Highway Patrol identified the women as Diana Manzo, 25, from Mapleton, and Sabrina Rasmussen, 21, of Springville.

"Always wear your seat belt," Lucas cautioned. "You just never know what could happen. Whether it be in your car or somebody else's car, take the opportunity to make yourself as safe as possible on the roads."

The two women were not wearing seat belts, were ejected from the vehicle, and killed. The 17-year-old boy in the back was using restraints and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
