A 46-year-old male has died from his injuries sustained from a car crash at the intersection of Daybreak Parkway and Mountain View Highway in South Jordan City.

A 46-year-old man was driving the semitruck and had to be extricated from vehicle, Brown said. It took emergency responders 45 minutes to extricate the man and he was air lifted to an area hospital in extremely critical condition. The man later died as a result from injuries sustained in the accident.

Eyewitnesses said the driver of a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant was headed west on Daybreak Parkway and “did not stop for the red signal,” Brown said.
The woman was driving a car westbound on Daybreak Parkway, and the man was driving a tractor trailer southbound on Mountain View Highway when the two vehicles collided at the intersection. The impact was so great that emergency responders had to work to remove the drivers from their vehicles. Both people were airlifted to hospitals in critical condition, but the man later passed away of his injuries. Identities have not yet been released.
