A 73-year-old male pilot was on his way from Spanaway to Chehalis when his small plane lost power. Luckily for him, he was near a big empty field south of Olympia.
Pilot injured in small plane crash in Rochester
The 73-year-old pilot tried emergency procedures to refire the engine, but was unsuccessful and had to set down in the field. Officials say the pilot was alert and conscious but suffering from pain.
A 73-year-old man was piloting a plane from Spanaway to Chehalis when his Cessna 170 lost power and crashed. Luckily, he was able to crash into a big empty field located about three miles from the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound. He suffered a back injury and some cuts, and was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
