One person has been killed in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 2 at Monroe, the Washington State Patrol reports. State troopers responded to the scene, near the Fryelands Boulevard intersection, at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of a serious crash. Investigators found that an eastbound Hyundai passenger car crossed the centerline and struck a westbound Jaguar driven by Jeff Lucas, who died at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai, a 72-year-old Lake Stevens woman, was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with non-life-threatening injuries. After the first crash, the Jaguar crossed into the eastbound lane and was struck by a pickup truck. Two people were in the pickup, and neither were injured.
