Indiana 37 was closed in both directions as officials investigated the crash scene, which is in a rural area about 10 miles south of Indianapolis. The crash happened when the car crossed into oncoming traffic on the four-lane Indiana 37 near the Morgan County community of Waverly just before 7 p.m. WAVERLY, Ind. – Four teenagers from the same central Indiana town died Wednesday evening when their car crossed a median on a state highway near Indianapolis and struck a minivan, Indiana State Police said. Police announced early Thursday that 17-year-old Mathew Howard Chambers, 18-year-old Lucas Edwin Kenworthy, 17-year-old Noah James Tex and 17-year-old Riley Davis Hurst died in the crash. "We send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the families of these students," the school district said in a statement.

Hundreds honor 4 Indiana teens killed in car wreck

They commemorated the teens and shared their grief Sunday night in the parking lot of Brownsburg High School. Mourners lit candles and released a bouquet of purple and white balloons, the school’s colors.

Four teens killed in multi-car crash on State Road 37 in Morgan County

Indiana State Police said a Ford Taurus traveling northbound on State Road 37 in Morgan County crossed over the median for an unknown reason and struck a southbound minivan. Four male teenagers inside the Taurus were killed. A fifth teen was transported to the hospital in serious condition. Two adults and two children inside the minivan were also transported to the hospital, in unknown condition.

4 dead in Morgan County crash, all lanes of SR 37 closed indefinitely

Four people died Wednesday evening in a crash on State Road 37 at Cragen Road in Morgan County, according to the coroner. The crash occurred just before 7 p.m.and  closed the northbound and southbound lanes of SR 37.
